About Thoracoscopic Esophageal Cancer

Esophageal cancer is a disease in which malignant (cancer) cells form in the tissues of the esophagus.This type of cancer can occur anywhere along the esophagus, but is most common in the neck region (cervical esophagus) and in the upper two-thirds of the chest cavity (upper and middle thoracic esophagus).

Mobilization of the stomach and creation of gastric conduit can be performed by laparotomy or by laparoscopy followed by a cervical anastomosis (three stage technique).
